Last Updated: March 31, 2026
Effective Date: March 31, 2026
Introduction
Streavo ("we," "our," or "the App") is a media streaming player application. This Privacy Policy describes how the App handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
Playlist URLs and Credentials: When you add a playlist, the App stores the server URL, username, and password you provide. This information is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
Favorites: Content you mark as a favorite is stored locally on your device.
Watch History: Your viewing history, including playback position and timestamps, is stored locally on your device.
User Profiles: If you create user profiles (e.g., for family members), profile names and preferences are stored locally on your device.
Parental Control Settings: PIN codes, locked categories, and content filtering preferences are stored locally on your device.
App Settings: Your preferences such as buffer size, skip duration, EPG settings, and other configuration options are stored locally on your device.
Information Collected Automatically
No analytics or tracking data is collected. The App does not use any analytics SDKs, crash reporting tools, or tracking technologies.
Third-Party Services
The App connects to the following third-party services to enhance your experience:
IMDB Metadata API (imdbapi.dev)
The App queries the IMDB API to retrieve metadata (titles, ratings, descriptions, artwork) for content in your playlists.
Only the title of the content is sent to the API for search purposes.
No personal information is shared with this service.
This data is cached locally on your device to reduce network requests.
Community Content Advisory Data
The App retrieves community-sourced content warnings and advisories (e.g., violence, language, mature themes) to power its content advisory feature.
Only content titles or identifiers are sent to retrieve advisory data.
No personal information is shared with this service.
Your Streaming Service Provider
When you add a playlist, the App connects directly to the server URL you provide to retrieve playlist data, EPG (Electronic Program Guide) information, and stream URLs.
The App acts as a client to your streaming service. Your relationship with your streaming provider is governed by their own privacy policy.
Camera Access
The App requests camera access solely for the purpose of scanning QR codes that contain playlist URLs. The camera is used only when you explicitly tap the QR scanner button on the login screen. No images or video are captured, stored, or transmitted.
Local Notifications
The App uses local notifications to inform you about:
Download completion status
Download expiration reminders
Notifications are generated entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to external servers, and no push notification services are used.
Data Storage
All data is stored exclusively on your device. Specifically:
Playlist credentials are stored in the device's local shared preferences.
Watch history, favorites, and profiles are stored in the device's local shared preferences.
Downloaded content is stored in the application's local file storage.
Cached metadata is stored in a local SQLite database.
Backup files are exported to a location you choose on your device.
We do not operate any servers that store user data. There are no user accounts, no cloud storage, and no server-side databases associated with this App.
Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your personal information with any third parties. The only network connections the App makes are:
To your streaming service provider (the server URL you configure)
To the IMDB metadata API (for content information)
To community content advisory services (for content warnings)
Data Retention
Since all data is stored locally on your device:
Data persists until you delete it within the App, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App.
Downloaded content expires based on the retention period you configure in settings.
You can delete your watch history, favorites, and profiles at any time from within the App.
You can remove playlists and their associated credentials at any time.
Children's Privacy
The App includes parental controls with PIN protection and category-based content locking. However, the App is not directed at children under 13. Content accessible through the App depends entirely on the playlists you configure, and you are responsible for ensuring age-appropriate use.
Your Rights Under GDPR (European Economic Area)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights:
Right of Access: All your data is stored locally on your device and is directly accessible to you.
Right to Rectification: You can modify any data stored by the App through its settings and interface.
Right to Erasure: You can delete all App data by clearing the App's storage or uninstalling it. You can also selectively delete watch history, favorites, profiles, and playlists within the App.
Right to Data Portability: The App provides a backup/export feature that allows you to export your settings, favorites, and history.
Right to Object: Since we do not process your data on any server, there is no processing to object to.
Because the App does not collect or transmit personal data to any server, most GDPR obligations related to data controllers do not apply. All data remains under your direct control on your device.
Your Rights Under CCPA (California)
If you are a California resident, under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
Right to Know: This Privacy Policy describes all categories of information the App handles. All data is stored locally on your device.
Right to Delete: You can delete all data by clearing the App's storage or uninstalling it.
Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell your personal information to any third party.
Right to Non-Discrimination: We do not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
We do not sell personal information. The App does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Security
Your playlist credentials and other data are stored using the device's standard application storage mechanisms. We recommend:
Using a device with screen lock enabled
Setting up the App's parental PIN if sharing the device
Being cautious when exporting backup files, as they contain your playlist credentials
Changes to This Privacy Policy
